Baltimore Tax and Financial was established in Maryland, USA in 1998. It became a corporation in 2001 and moved its operations to Nigeria in 2007 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. The Chief Executive Officer of BTF, Mr. Tajudeen Toyin-Oke, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an international associate member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of BTF is Professor Sheik Abdullah.  He was appointed professor of Finance and Investment Management in 1993. He was the Dean of Faculty of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University and the Director General of ASCON, Topo, for a number of years. He was a consultant to a number of UNDP/NEPAD capacity development initiatives.
